What Ann Corcoran of (WordPress) Refugee Resettlement Watch Don't Tell You About Immigrants

                            Ann Corcoran

Immigrants take our jobs. They don’t pay taxes. They’re a drain on the economy. They make America less … American.

You’ve probably heard all of these arguments, especially with the country recovering from a financial disaster. Indeed, they’ve been heard for a century or two, as successive waves of immigrants to this nation of immigrants have first been vilified, then grudgingly tolerated, and ultimately venerated for their contributions.

This time, too, there is ample evidence that immigrants are creating businesses and revitalizing the U.S. workforce. Corcoran went on the talk show of a fellow right-wing nut, Jan Mickleson to discuss her fears about her small, white community becoming home to displaced refugees. She seemed to believe that it would be a threat to life as she knows it, and perhaps even to America at large. Corcoran told Mickelson that she thinks it’s a way to get more liberal votes for the Democratic Party. She said:

“I think that it is partly driven by progressives looking for reliable left-wing Democrat voters, that’s a driving force. I think there’s a certain amount of just wanting to rub diversity in the noses of conservative communities and places where there isn’t a lot of diversity and just bringing them in and push the whole multicultural meme on us.”

That’s not all this loony toon thinks, though. She actually believes that these scared people, who are fleeing a war-torn land, running for their very lives with the clothes on their backs and little else, are coming here to America with another motive: To create an Islamic State.

So, people looking to leave a war-torn country in search of a stable and livable existence are exacting jihad in the name of Mohammed? I don’t think so. Lady, your paranoia is off the charts on this one. You’re so afraid of people unlike yourself that you can’t even fathom them being in the same country as you. Read more
